Community Outreach and Local News Interviews

No animal hospital can consider itself an engaged partner with its clients and their pets if it is does not also actively participate as a member of its local community. Summerfields Animal Hospital is no exception.

Partnering with our local high school's career and technical education programs, Summerfields Animal Hospital offers clinical externship opportunities to qualifying seniors of the Keller, Northwest and Birdville independent school districts. These students gain insight into veterinary medicine while working to achieve their veterinary assistant license.

Dr. Metzler serves as an active board member for several surrounding animal shelters. She provides medical and surgical care for the shelter’s incoming animals

Our team is dedicated to offering externship opportunities for veterinary and technician students from our local veterinary colleges and technician training schools. All externs are screened through an application and interview process.

We strive to ensure that our services are not cost prohibitive to the animals in our community in need. We support several 501c3 nonprofit organizations and animal centered charitable events within our local community.
